Cathy says "He is the teenage head of a household with no mum or dad. He is happy and very polite, and school is very important to him. He couldn't find funds for tuition but PREFER Preschool helped him out. In his first report he received a very low grade and was so ashamed and apologetic but having missed 4 or 5 weeks of term what can you expect. He has since picked himself up and is proceeding with every success."

Cathy says "He was here this morning and is all set for school. He did not know I was giving him so much and was overwhelmed. For 10 minutes he saying thank you and he wished he had more English to explain how he felt. His school fees are 27000 Rwandan Francs and his uniform 5000 Rwandan Francs. All his materials are the same as the other boys, e.g. mattress, bedding supplies, etc. He walked off so very proud and could not wait to show his mum."
At the end of 2008 Cathy said "Josef came home after the first term and told me that school used to be difficult because he was always worried about tuition and supplies, but now he is free to study and do his best.
